Chef Josiah Craig’s seasoned and talented team have created an innovative approach to crafting a seasonal menu of cravable food and drink that is value priced.
Newly established in 2018, Social wants to be YOUR choice in dining out. R & D Night (Research & Development) provides an informal get together in the Cellar every Monday evening for our guests to preview future fair as it is being shared and served by our chefs and beverage pioneers.
Tuesday thru Saturday dinner is served in the Cellar Bar, in what is best described as extending our Chef’s Table to the entire restaurant. Available for parties up to 10, the Chef’s table gives our guests the opportunity for Josiah to create a personalized off-menu dining experience of food and drink selected to perfectly pair and complement each other. These evenings have a way of eventually finding a place on the menu.
Here at Social, we are proud to announce our partnership with Harmony House! With a driven focus on community engagement and philanthropy, we are transforming our downtown space to a gallery featuring local artists, and we will be directing profits from the gallery to Harmony House. Inspired by the artists, we’ll be featuring a new cocktail for each gallery. Alongside that, we will have an ever-changing, family-style menu specially crafted with the Springfield community in mind.
You will discover our entire staff serving you, perhaps with the chef who created or prepared a dish placing it in front of you and hoping it will be a pleasurable experience. Our “family dinner” takes place on the Monday prior to introducing the seasonal change of our menu. Prepared and served to our team by Josiah and by Vincent, our drink explorer and developer, it provides each one of us a personal experience to share with you in telling our story.

After graduating from the San Diego Culinary Institute, Daniel returned to his Springfield home to focus his culinary enthusiasm, chef skills and cooking activities on creative interpretations of American Cuisine. Always eager to talk about things "Foodie" related, he looks forward to his continued efforts to grow and elevate Springfield’s food culture.
Doug Riddle, Beverage Manager and Raconteur
Former professional brewer, baker, and educator, Doug now creates cocktails, talks about spirits/beer/wine/anything and everything and specializes in “R&D” (which means going places and eating and drinking as much as possible). Grabbing a seat at Social’s bar? Ask him what project he has going on and prepare to go down the rabbit hole!
